Capital

Most clients come to us with a well developed project with which they need direct fundraising management or consultancy from UCS. So for 90% of clients the input from UCS is as follows:

  • Phase 1 - The preparation of a detailed fundraising strategy and fundraising implementation plan. This is crucial to make certain that the project is feasible and that the funds can be raised. Often a client needs to get fit to fundraise and develop in many ways to maximise fundraising potential so we look at fundraising but also governance, public relations, resources, leadership and communications for example.

  • Phase 2 - Implementation of fundraising which generally involves either outsourcing to UCS Consultants or in-house management of fundraising, often with consultancy support from UCS. This may involve training and mentoring as well as direct fundraising services.

UCS Consultants is very experienced in helping clients raise funds for capital projects. We have worked on successful campaigns raising from £100,000 to £50 million. Each input from the consultancy is different depending on the complexity of the project and the baseline of skills and experience within each client. Some campaigns are fairly straightforward. There may be an existing and high quality fundraising strategy and UCS simply audits that, amends it and then delivers all or part of the campaign using our own fundraisers. Some are complex, particularly when a client presents with the first germs of an idea and without any resources to deliver the development and fundraising programme.

UCS Consultants has a team of expert consultants and associates able to develop the most complex of capital developments ... or the simplest! So if you want to build a small extension onto your premises for £150,000 - we can help! If you want to repair a major heritage asset or build a new building at £20 million - we can help too.

For examples see our client spotlights particularly Lincoln Cathedral, St James' Church, Grimsby, Lincolnshire Agricultural Society.
